Duro-Tuff Roof Installation in Loves Park, IL

New roof for restaurant in Loves Park, Illinois

At H.C. Anderson Roofing Company, we understand the importance of our work in keeping the businesses in our community open. In the case of this Duro-Tuff installation in Loves Park, IL, the lead came from one of our crew who happened to have a conversation with the restaurant owner while dining at the location.

The owner had been considering a new roof for a few years. The existing membrane was breaking down and repair work was not going to provide a long-term solution. Our team inspected the roof and provided a free estimate. After a settling upon a few contract revisions, we began work at the end of the summer.

Here is an overview of the project, including the different steps and materials we used to complete the job.

Surface Preparation

After delivering the equipment and materials, our roofers began by removing the existing roofing system and all debris from job area. Surface preparation is an important step in the installation of a new roof to make sure all layers above it are fastened correctly.

Coverboard Installation

Next we installed a layer of ½-inch High-Density Polyiso Coverboard. This material not only provides the surface for attaching the membrane fasters, but it also serves as insulation and protection against wind and hail. It’s an essential step in delivering a roof can stand up to unpredictable weather in Illinois.

Duro-Tuff Roofing System

For this project, we chose a 60-mil Duro-Tuff membrane for maximum protect against the elements. The Duro-Tuff system offers a watertight, reflective, and eco-friendly solution for flat roofs. We used the RhinoBond system to attach the membrane to the coverboard. This is a mechanically attached solution that eliminates the need to penetrate the roofing membrane.

Ventilation and Flashing

We installed two-way roof vents, ensuring the system meets manufacturer specifications for airflow and moisture control. These strategically place PVC vents provide pressure and moisture relief for the roofing system. Finally, we flashed all roofing penetrations, and secured the membrane around the roof’s edges by terminating around the perimeter.

Quality Assurance

After our team finished the installation, the roof received a thorough inspection by Duro-Last’s Quality Assurance team. Once they approved our work, we provided the restaurant owner with a 20-year Manufacturer’s NDL (No Dollar Limit) Labor and Material Warranty. This industry-leading warranty is a testament to the confidence we have in the quality of our work and the materials we use.

We are proud to be trusted with projects like this in the Rockford community. The family restaurant at 7019 N Alpine Road now has a top-of-the-line roofing system that will keep them protected from the elements and reduce their energy consumption for decades to come.
